natural area for observation of local fauna and flora.

The neobyzantin Notre-Dame des Dombes Abbey (near le Plantay), dating from
the 19th century,
- The medieval architecture in Pérouges and
Trévoux ( in the south-west of the region, historic capital of the
Dombes Principality before its attachment to France in 1762), also with
the Tower of le Plantay and during the roman churches tour,
- The flamboyant gothic style at the Monastery of Brou (Bourg-en
-Bresse) and in Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne, a town also famous for its
architectural diversity, its wooden Halle (ancient covered market place)
and its flowery
village.
